Having a small child around the house can present some issues when you need to get things done! One way to give you an extra pair of hands around the house is by using a Levana Clearvu LV-TW301 monitor. Having a system like this allows you to keep an eye on your little one in one room while you are working in another part of the house. Levana, the maker, is specifically in the business of child safety, and also supports the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which I find impressive. They sponsor a widget on their page from which users can make donations directly to that center. Levana makes more expensive, top of the line baby monitors as well.
The ClearVu is a lower end, less expensive model in their line which makes it more attractive for first time buyers who are up to try one out, but aren’t ready to invest in a higher end model. No matter what your reasons, it’s good to find out what you are paying for before you take that first step.
What comes in the box?
Depending on the model you are looking at one of the key decisions that can be made is what is included when purchased. For instance, some do not come with a battery which can factor into your decision. The ClearVu includes:
- Parent Unit w/Li-Ion battery
- Baby Unit
- Camera Mount
- Parent Unit Rechargeable Base
- 2 Power Adapters
- 1 Year Warranty
- Lifetime Live Support

The ClearVu has earned a total Amazon rating of 3 out of 5 stars, and has 96 reviews- a pretty good amount of feedback is available with these reviews to help you make an informed decision. One of the reviewers who gave the monitor an overall grade of 3 stars had this to say:
I found that the ClearVu set up easily and shows a great picture both during the night and during the daytime. The unit is very cute and has a cool nightlight feature. One issue I do have is that the quietest noise setting still seems quite loud. I am mostly concerned about the baby crying but do not need to hear it take every single breath.
A more positive reviewer who gave it a full 5 out of the 5 stars had this to say:
We have had nothing but good luck with it. We also purchased an extra camera so that we could use it in different rooms. One of the biggest drawbacks we have noticed is that the battery seems to drain quite fast when the LCD screen is at its brightest. But for the price, and the quality of the night mode, we would highly recommend this video monitor to our friends!
The ClearVu is a great choice for those looking for a monitor having a high quality camera at a reasonable price. Here are some of our final pros & cons.
Pros: You can build up to four additional cameras onto the system, and many people report less wireless interference than many other monitors out there. Good image quality, and the night light feature is fun.
Cons: There is no belt clip or other way to attach the parent unit to you, and it seems that the unit needs to be on the charger a lot of the time. Also the audio has been reported not to pick up softer sounds, which may give the child more alone time than you want when they are starting to wake up, or are already upset.
I hope you have enjoyed the review of the ClearVu monitor. We feel it makes a perfect choice for single baby parents along with parents expecting or having multiples!
